ICF, llc History

ICF, llc was started by Stephen Jones and Bart Jones, owners of Merlin Contracting and Developing, llc. Merlin Contracting was asked by the National Association of Home Builders NAHB to build the New American Home 2004 ^®, as a concrete home.  The New American Home^® is an annual showcase project co-sponsored by the National Association of Home Builders’ National Council of the Housing Industry along with Builder Magazine.  Merlin Contracting and Developing, llc has years of experience satisfying high-end clients and a keen understanding of the Las Vegas market and therefore was a good match for The New American Home 2004^®, which is situated on an in-fill waterfront lot in the Lake Sahara subdivision of Summerlin, a western suburb of Las Vegas.  The home is a loft style design with large interior open spaces and contemporary lines.  It is a showcase for emerging design trends, products and applications, featuring high performance exterior Insulated Concrete Form walls, concrete masonry cladding, precast structural decking, and decorative concrete flooring.

The New American Home^® Arxx Building Systems provided ICF materials for the basement and two stories of above-grade walls, along with customer support and installation training to Merlin Contracting and Developing.  Walls were erected ahead of schedule. “It took one project manager and one laborer just 25 minutes to set one course, including steel, of the (2,000 square foot) basement foot-print,” says Stephen Jones, founder and C.E.O. of Merlin Contracting and Developing. In addition to lessening cycle time and labor costs, ICF created perfect walls, boosted energy efficiency, delivered build-in seismic qualities and provided a solid, durable and abundantly flexible exterior shell.  The Jones brothers were so impressed that they became an ARXX authorized distributor, forming ICF, llc.  In keeping with the growth and evolution of the ICF industry ICF, llc expanded their line of products and now are the proud Southern Nevada distributor of Fox Blocks.  Fox Blocks is one of the newest, most innovative and strongest insulated concrete forms on the market today.
